Napp och Nytt 1948–2021.
ABU began developing fishing reels in 1939; the first mass-produced models arrived in 1940.
During the years 1940–1943, reels were manufactured under the brands RECORD and PEBECO.
A large quantity of RECORD was countermarked W.D
The first catalogues were issued under the name PEBECO in 1942. Record 1941, 1942, 1944, 1945, and 1946, and all are available here.
From 1948 to 2021, ABU published the classic annual catalogue Napp och Nytt, a total of 74 editions, which became an integral part of Swedish angling history. The entire series is collected here and can be read digitally.

PEBECO
PEBECO was the brand under which AB Urfabriken's reels were sold via the wholesaler Paul Berghaus & Co in Gothenburg 1940–1943. The 1942 catalogue is the company's first own sportfishing catalogue and includes, among others, the spinning reels 99, 111, 121, 222, 333, 444 and 999.
Record
Record was ABU's own brand before the Ambassadeur era. The annual catalogue was published in 1941, 1942, 1944, 1945 and 1946 — wartime editions documenting how the sportfishing division in Svängsta was built up around the 1500, 1600, 1700 and 1800 reels.
Napp och Nytt
Napp och Nytt succeeded Record in 1948 and was published in 74 volumes until 2021. The catalogue is one of the most important primary sources for ABU's product history: it dates model introductions, variants, colour schemes, prices and spare-part numbers year by year — including the entire lifespan of the Ambassadeur 5000.
